Description
As a people who pay particular attention to rites, the Chinese, since the Chou Dynasty, have established sophisticated marriage ceremonies to regulate people's marriage conduct. This Directorate particularly chose from the ancient marriage rites Yingching〝to go to meet one's bride at her home before escorting her back to one's own home for the wedding〞, Baitang 〝to kowtow to Heaven, Earth, and ancestors〞, and Dongfang 〝nuptial chamber〞as subject matter for the set of three stamps.
