To introduce the industry of sugar production in Taiwan and to celebrate the 13th Congress of the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists held in Taipei on March 11-16, 1968, a set of 〝Taiwan Sugar Industry Stamps〞 was issued showing three women workers harvesting sugarcane as the central design.
Taiwan's sugar industry is a world-wide enterprise. It keeps in close contact with sugar producers of other countries in order to exchange with them production experience and research. Sugar and its by-products are exported to all parts of the world. Foreign exchange earned by sugar has always played a major role in Taiwan's export trade.
