Description

Following the release of Fruits Postage Stamps (Continued), and Fruits Postage Stamps (Continued II) on January 28 and August 17, 2016, respectively, the Post is issuing another follow-up set of four stamps, featuring Mango, Orange, Watermelon and Grape. The designs follow:

1. Mango (NT$3.5): The fruit comes in many varieties, and Irwin is the most widely cultivated kind in Taiwan. The fruit is oblong in shape, with reddish skin. The flesh is velvety and delicate, juicy and aromatic.
2. Orange (NT$5): The fruit is either spherical or oblong in shape. The skin is yellow, with flat and slightly rough oil pockets. The flesh is bright yellow, and its taste a pleasant mix of acidity and sweetness. The fruit is intensely fragrant and juicy.
3. Watermelon (NT$12): The fruit is either spherical or oblong in shape. Its skin is predominantly green and smooth, covered in mottles or stripes. The flesh is either red or yellow; its water content exceeds 90%. It is a popular summer fruit.
4. Grape (NT$32): The staple variety in Taiwan is Kyohō grape, a fruit traditionally eaten fresh. The skin is blackish-purple, covered in thick hoar. The fruit is large with high sugar content and low acidity. The flesh is mushy, juicy and delightfully refreshing.
